What are your exact pain points with Kontakt? It had a top-layer GUI redesign in version 5.6 so it looks a bit more modern now (NI's probably gonna do a full GUI overhaul for version 6, whenever that happens). just doesn't sound that good IMHO - or to sound any good it needs an awful lot of massageing other libraries just don't need. EW has its set of problems (plus a dongle requirement) and Vienna. You might not like Kontakt, but it's the name of the game when it comes to orchestral libraries, which is showcased by the number of products released for that platform. To properly compare this library with modern all-in-one orchestral libraries, see Spitfire's Albion range, ProjectSAM's Orchestral Essentials, and Red Room Audio Palette (shameless plug here!) It's basically just repackaged old old MOTU Symphonic Instrument library. Hence it sounds quite synthetic anad about 10-15 years behind the curve. You just cannot have the detail other libraries offer with just shy over 15k samples for that many orchestral instruments. Sonically it's very much behind the best Kontakt offerings, it's lacking in almost every metric: number of RRs/velocity layers, quality of sound, number of articulations, etc. Unfortunately there's nothing "killer" about that UVI library. So I think I will keep my money until I find something dedicated, not depending on a third-party plugin that I don´t like. I do not want to make this mistake again. Now the Kore Player is no more available and my Kore libraries became useless. It was nice until NI decided to drop the whole Kore line. I used it and also bought some sound libraries for it. I do not like its GUI, design, controls and overall handling.Īnother thing, once NI had its Kore line with the free Kore player.

I do not want to buy Kontakt, and I do not want to install the free Kontakt Player. I mean, when I spend 500 Dollars for an orchstral library, which is a very common price range for quality stuff, why can´t I expect to get a nice and independent VSTI to run it? They are not real VSTIs, but "just" libraries for Native Instruments Kontakt or Kontakt Player.Īnd I really do not understand this. I have already found some really good and expensive ones, but they all have a "problem".
I am looking for a good sounding modern orchestral instrument/library, especially for cinematic type of music.
